Triathlon Training Day 3 – Whoops
November 12, 2015
4:50 a.m. – The SleepBot alarm on my phone starts singing to me. Because of the sleep deprivation from designing this blog late into the night, the normally pleasant music sounded like someone had backed up a dump truck full of broken concrete into my bedroom and started dumping it inside my head. I grab the phone bleary eyed and see “Sleep time – 4 hours 12 minutes” silently screaming at me the reminder that I went to bed way too late. But, I get up anyway and push on because I’m dedicated to this program and achieving the goal of winning a triathlon.
I throw my Trek Bicycle into the back of the suburban and head down to the freeway. It’s not until I make it to the Orem 800 North exit that I realize my fuzzy brain forgot to include my biking shoes with the rest of my gear. “I could of had a V8” commercial comes to mind. I quickly turn around to make the 40 minute round trip journey to retrieve my footwear so that I can pedal with Sam and the rest of the crew.
Finally I arrive. With Sam’s help I change my skewer and attach the computer and I really only have about 25-30 minutes left in the workout. Because I am the last one there I get station 3 which noone wants because it is touchy from time to time. The computer didn’t register so I didn’t get any data from the session.
Live and learn. I will not be forgetting my shoes again anytime soon.
