Triathlon Training Day 17 – Happy Thanksgiving! My own little Turkey Trot.
November 26, 2015Received this text from Triathlon Coach Marci last night. For your run tomorrow I want you to go 7 miles. After you get warmed up then increase your speed to 8:20 min mile. At mile 4 Do 4 one min pushes with a 2 min recovery! Then go back to the 8:20 pace for the rest of your run. Cool down pace for the last half mile. Have fun with it!

The run was great except for the fact that my Samsung Gear S watch was acting really weird so I left it home and then my phone just randomly blitzed even though I had 72% battery. It died right after I took this picture (below) which was about the 1st mile marker. So this entire workout I was doing without GPS, clock, distance or music. Just the counting in my head and the fact that I have run this trail enough times to know where each new mile starts. I did the workout and found that I can run fast and hard for about 40-50 seconds and then I wane a little. I need to get faster, stronger and longer.

Well off to visit family and eat Turkey. Happy Thanksgiving!
